Earlier today Caughtoffside posted a piece saying that Arsenal could make a move for January Chelsea signing Demba Ba. It tells us the new Blues boss Jose Mourinho thinks that Ba is surplus to requirements (Blues are also reported to have signed Napoli star striker Edinson Cavani), and Arsenal could lodge a £9m offer for the striker.
I think that this signing is highly improbable. We already have Giroud in that position and both are almost tactically the same, so this signing would make us tactically inert. Secondly, Arsene himself had said [before the Newcastle game on 29 Dec, 2012 ] " If you ask me 'do we sign Demba Ba?' I say no." And if he was really interested in the player he could have then bought him in January by triggering his £7.5m release clause.
